A Montessori Summer Camp for children toddler to 7 yrs old

The summer program follows the principles and philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

The “Montessori Method” was seen by Dr. Montessori as “.....simply an assist to life”: Children build their will and take responsibility for themselves, as they choose their own “work” or activity and follow through. They learn to be independent and think and do for themselves.

Academics

We will continue the Montessori Academics during the summer camp. We will have different theme every week.

Because the daily activities of the classroom encourage and enhance the development of social skills, the child learns to respect others and to be respected. The child will practice art/craft mediums to explore and create, a “house” for role play etc.

Swimming

There is a big pool out back to cool off in during those hot and not so hot Summer days. We have a certified swimming instructor who gives swim lessons. (all children wear GHMS floatation devices). In the afternoon there is nap-time for those who need it, story telling, snacks, art projects and free play inside/outside. Play time outside includes riding toys, T-ball, soccer goal and ball, teeter totter, slide, bubbles and much more! All these outdoor activities are done on a large grassy area fit for running, riding and playing of any kind.

On top of this all special activities are offered: gymnastics, puppet shows, music lessons, and movement on music.

Children staying in after care might again go to the pool. Indoors: free play, art project, story telling, snack. When children attend Green House Montessori’s “A Summer To Grow On” they will be in a nurturing environment where they have the freedom to learn and explore. And best of all they will have a great time every day!!
