Curriculum
The curriculum of Green House Montessori School is based on the guidelines of the American Montessori Society and the State of Michigan. We offer teaching materials and methods which develop and refine the child’s visual, auditory, and tactile perception as well as stimulate his or her powers of observation, recognition, judgment and classification. The child whose early education has been enriched by such methods is better prepared for later school and life.
Classrooms
At Green House Montessori School, our classrooms are arranged in multiage groups. Children are grouped based on their learning ability in each subject.
- Toddler Room consists of children aged Infants to 33 months.
- Pre-primary room #1 consists of children aged 33 months to 4 years.
- Pre-primary room #2 consists of children aged 3 years to 6 years.
Our classroom curriculum consists of:
- Practical Life
- Sensorial
- Math
- Language
- Science and Nature
- Geography and History
- Music, Art and Movement
- Physical Education
Extra Curricular
We also offer dance and Spanish classes along with swimming in our own pool under teacher supervision during the summer. Throughout the school year we go on various field trips which the parents are welcome to join.
Hours
- Green House Montessori School is open from 7:30am through 6:00pm.
- Full Day Program is from 8:30am to 3:30pm.
- Half Day Program is from 8:30am to 11:30am
- Extended Half Day Program is from 8:30pm to 1:00pm
- All programs have daycare available before and after.
Admission
Green House Montessori School is open to all families. We do not discriminate with regard to religion, race, gender, national origin or handicap. To start school your child needs to be 18 months old.
Classroom observation by parents is encouraged and we welcome your child to accompany you on your visit.
Observations can be schedule by contacting the school. A completed Student Application for Enrollment for the academic year must be submitted with a $35 non-refundable fee.
